So this is a fight about patience and using its moves against it. You can only damage Willow Stone by striking its core, which is protected by two layers of rock for most of the fight.

At this stage in the game, it shouldn’t pose too much of a threat to you, especially when you understand its attack patterns and how to combat them. ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS- Willow Stone Boss FightDuring your quest through Willow’s End, to open up access to the Spirit Willow, you will encounter the Willow Stone mini-boss. Avoid touching this at all costs, as it will sap your health quickly in either Phase. Also early on, Kwolok will smash the ground and create a pit of thorns in the middle of the floor. You’ll be fighting the first phase on dry land, and then the second from within the water, so be prepared. It requires a lot of patience, tests a few of your different skills and demands that you watch the enemy closely before planning your attacks. ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS- Kwolok Boss Fight (Timely Demise Achievement)This is a fight in two stages, with no checkpoints. Spirit Edge is again very useful, and remember, you need to hit her head to damage her. With that and learning her moves, you shouldn’t have too much trouble. On the left wall, is a Spirit Crystal which will respawn over time, so get to it when you can, and use this in combination with the Regeneration move to keep your health topped up. This will be especially useful for dodging and gaining height during the fight. You should notice that either side of the arena, the walls are bare, meaning they can be climbed. The handy-looking ledge here won’t be around for long, so don’t bother with it. She’ll initially plunge you downwards, and you’ll fall into the arena properly. ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS- Mora Boss FightOnce you’ve worked your way through Mouldwood Depths, your reward is a fight against a massive spider, Mora. With the aggressive movement of the Horn Beetle, the player can easily get cornered there and die pretty quickly, so keep distance.

The final watch out is that either side of the arena is packed full of thorns which will damage constantly. Hitting him from the front won’t do any damage. The openings are there, but will likely be over too quickly to react the first time.

ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS- Horn Beetle Boss FightThe Horn Beetle will be very aggressive, almost relentlessly so, which can easily catch you off guard. A little further on and Howl pounces through the screen, roaring. Howl can be spotted in the background as you approach the Spirit Gate after finishing the quest with Tokk. Here both combat and platforming skills will be put to the test. This way, you can get a few hits in and plan your next move.ORI AND THE WILL OF THE WISPS- Howl Boss FightHowl is the first boss in Ori and the Will of the Wisps and forms part of the tutorial section of the game. This maneuver is crucial in the early game when taking on some of the tougher bosses or mid-bosses in Ori and the Will of the Wisps, as many of them are extremely aggressive and favor horizontal attacks. In some cases, enemies will be staggered by the downward thrust. If you jump up and slice down, you’ll trigger a very long range attack that not only allows you to hit enemies below you safely while remaining aerial, but lets you combo right into a double jump to safety. Most notably, you have a downward slash available similar to an old school Zelda game. The thing is, the sword itself has a few tricks up its sleeve that isn’t directly communicated through an overt tutorial. Ori will pick up a torch in the early game before swapping to a light sword of sorts, forcing you to get up close and personal throughout the course of the game. This time around, combat is decidedly melee-focused.

Now, you need to get your hands dirty a bit. Unlike the original, the incredibly cute and formidable Ori will not dispatch enemies by way of mashing the attack button and throwing out short-ranged little homing missiles. Ori and the Will of the Wisps does things a bit differently when it comes to combat.
